Received a S.B. degree in Economics, Political Science and Engineering from MIT in 1965. |

Received his law degree cum laude from The Law School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 where he was an editor of the Law Review. |

Following law school he returned to Massachusetts and served as a law clerk for a justice of the Supreme Judicial Court. |

Entered private practice with a small Boston law firm in 1969 and in 1976 was one of six founding partners of the law firm of Goldstein & Manello where he served as chair of its Litigation Department. |

During his first 15 years, Mr. King practiced primarily as a general litigator and was counsel of record in some twenty reported appellate court decisions involving such diverse areas of the law as banking, real estate, employment and divorce. |

For the most recent 25 years Mr. King has concentrated his practice in representing parties before municipal and state boards and agencies regarding land use permits, both zoning and environmental. He has appeared before local planning boards, zoning boards and conservation commissions in more than thirty municipalities in Greater Boston, representing the interests of both applicants and abutting property owners. |

He has been instrumental in obtaining permits for commercial properties ranging from the expansion of regional shopping malls to the renovation of small suburban plazas, for business ranging from scrap metal dealers to research facilities developing state of the art pharmaceuticals, and for educational institutions in suburban communities as well as within the City of Boston. |

Early in his career he successfully defended in court one of the first comprehensive permits issued in Essex County for affordable housing; more recently has represented applicants for comprehensive permits for affordable housing projects in his home town of Marblehead.

He assists owners and developers obtain local land use permits and approvals for new or expanded and renovated single family homes. |

He is a guest lecturer on land use issues at MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning and has served as chairman of the Marblehead Zoning Board of Appeals. |

He has also served on the Property Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association and has submitted two amicus curiae briefs on land use issues to the Supreme Judicial Court on behalf of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association. |

On a pro bono basis he has assisted historical commissions in two communities preserve historic buildings and has provided counsel to a consortium of educational and cultural entities in Boston. |

He has extensive experience with both State and Federal access laws for the disabled, having assisted owners in the hospitality and retail industries and developers of multifamily residential properties comply with current regulations and to resolve claims where they have not. |

Mr King is admitted to practice in the courts of Massachusetts and numerous Federal courts including the Supreme Court of the United States. |
